Just completed a 7 day trip to LEH.
We took the Route via Srinagar to LEH. It is a life time Experience indeed!
Do it right now in the next 5 years
before it gets commercialized. The People from the western countries are making
the most of India’s Natural and peaceful Scenic Beauty.
There are certain things which may
help you plan your next LEH TRIP

Climate from August 1st week is
usually in sub 25 degrees

Its not so Cold,plan accordingly

Diamox would be required in 90% cases where in
that should start once a day before reaching LEH a day in advance
-
If you have a good Immune and a healthy fitness
level and are used to stress levels then Diamox won’t be required.
Ideal Itinerary
Plan the journey to LEH either from Srinagar or from Manali.
Avoid both sides in one trip. Its quite a task doing this. Roads are very
rough.
Suggestion here is do not reach LEH
directly via Flight!
We took the Route via Srinagar and
had a stop over at Kargil.

It’s a quite tough road to travel by, but that’s
our National Highway 1. The entire logistics of that region is been using this
road since years. Indian Army has done quite a bit of a job to get that up and
running. Difficult Conditions and mountains all around. We traveling by car and
one keep seeing tothers in Bike, Cycle & running! The view is excellent
left side you would see the Mountains on the right valleys,water streams,
Glaciers etc.

Took a stop over at Kargi- Hotel Jan Palace. A
good stay for one night. Kargil you have absolutely nothing to See/watch and
account for. Purely a night stop over

Kargil to Leh is a smoother road and you would
take 8 hours for the same. In this sector you can expect better roads, you are
reaching LEH finally.
In Leh Take a day rest and from the
next day do Nubra Valley. Stay At Organic Retreat an excellent Place to stay.
Stay at Nubra Valley for a day and
come back to Leh, next day take a trip to Pangong Lake and here take any of the
camps near the Lake. Do not expect much in Camps at Leh due to lack of power
and basic needs.

Would recommend these two if there
is time do a trip to Tsomoriri lake.
My reco is always stay at the
places you visit cause all the destination from Leh are atleast 6 hours travel.
